Purpose
This policy explains my commitment to maintaining a professional, respectful and courteous environment for everyone I work with.
Policy
I am committed to treating every client, family, funeral director, venue, supplier and member of the public with kindness, dignity and respect.
In return, I ask that everyone communicates with me in the same respectful manner.
I understand that the occasions I support can be emotional and stressful, and I will always approach difficult situations with patience, understanding and compassion.
However, I will not accept behaviour that is abusive, threatening, intimidating, discriminatory, aggressive or deliberately disrespectful. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Verbal abuse or offensive language.
- Threatening or intimidating behaviour.
- Harassment or discrimination.
- Bullying or personal insults.
Aggressive behaviour towards myself or others involved in the ceremony.
Unreasonable or persistent behaviour that prevents me from carrying out my professional duties.
Where inappropriate behaviour occurs, I will always try to resolve the situation calmly and professionally. If the behaviour continues, I reserve the right to end a meeting or telephone conversation, leave the venue if it is safe to do so, or, where appropriate, withdraw my services.
Any decision to withdraw my services will only be made where I believe the behaviour is unacceptable or where my safety, wellbeing or ability to provide a professional service has been compromised.
This policy is intended to protect everyone involved and to ensure that all ceremonies are conducted in a safe, respectful and dignified environment.
Review
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated where necessary to reflect changes in legislation, professional guidance or working practices.
