Purpose
This policy explains my commitment to maintaining a safe environment while carrying out my duties as a Minister and Celebrant.
Policy
The health, safety and wellbeing of families, guests, colleagues and myself are important at every ceremony.
I will always work responsibly and take reasonable steps to ensure that ceremonies are conducted safely and with consideration for those attending.
When working at crematoria, cemeteries, churches, venues or other locations, I will follow the health and safety procedures and guidance provided by the venue.
I will remain aware of any potential hazards and, where appropriate, work with funeral directors, venue staff or other professionals to reduce any risks.
Where adverse weather or other circumstances could affect the safety or comfort of those attending, I will work with the funeral director or venue to make any appropriate adjustments while maintaining the dignity of the ceremony.
Any accidents, incidents or concerns that occur during the course of my work will be reported to the appropriate person or organisation as soon as reasonably possible.
Review
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated where necessary to reflect changes in legislation, professional guidance or working practices.
