About Jon Matson-Higgins, Minister & Celebrant, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire.

Force Majeure Policy

Purpose

This policy explains how unforeseen circumstances beyond my reasonable control may affect the services I provide as a Minister and Celebrant.

Policy

While I make every effort to fulfil all bookings and provide the highest standard of service, there may be exceptional circumstances beyond my reasonable control that prevent me from carrying out my duties as planned.

Examples of such circumstances may include, but are not limited to:

  • Severe weather conditions.
  • Road closures or major travel disruption.
  • Serious illness or injury.
  • Acts of God or natural disasters.
  • Fire, flood or other emergencies.
  • Industrial action or transport disruption.
  • Government restrictions or public health emergencies.
  • Power failures or failures of communication systems.
  • Any other event that could not reasonably have been anticipated or avoided.

If a Force Majeure event occurs, I will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to explain the situation and discuss the available options.

Where appropriate, I will make every reasonable effort to rearrange the ceremony or, if this is not possible, assist in finding another suitably qualified Minister or Celebrant to conduct the service.

I cannot accept responsibility for delays, cancellations or changes that arise directly from events beyond my reasonable control. However, I will always do everything reasonably possible to minimise any disruption and support you during these circumstances.

Nothing within this policy affects your statutory rights.

Review

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated where necessary to reflect changes in legislation, professional guidance or working practices.
